Joshua is Co-founder and Managing Partner at Soteris, bringing two decades of financial and investment experience focused on simplifying the complexities of wealth and helping clients manage their unique and evolving financial needs.
His commitment to financial modeling and personal financial planning is supported by his professional credentials, including being a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Certified Private Wealth Advisor®, and a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor® (CPFA™).
Prior to Soteris, Josh spent fourteen years at Merrill Lynch in Walnut Creek, California, where he and Rob managed a practice serving more than 100 accomplished families and overseeing approximately $800 million in assets under management, with a focus on comprehensive financial planning and retirement strategies. The hallmark of their approach has always been understanding not only the financial goals of clients, but also the values they hold most dear. Josh brings expertise in advanced financial modeling to help clients at each phase of life.
Earlier in his career, Josh held roles in corporate finance and real estate analysis. He began at Panattoni Development Company in Sacramento, California where he served as Senior Associate securing private and institutional equity investments for real estate development projects throughout North America and Europe. He later joined Gap, Inc. in San Francisco serving as a Senior Financial Analyst in the real estate group for the Old Navy brand.
Josh graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Economics in 2002 and an MBA in Finance in 2006. He is an Eagle Scout and enjoys the outdoors – especially mountain biking or hiking in the Oakland Hills, Sierra Nevadas/Yosemite, and Wasatch mountains. Joshua also speaks German.
Josh and his wife, Rachel, raised their daughter and 3 sons in Moraga, CA. He loved coaching his kids’ sports teams for many years. He continues to cheer on his two younger sons who play for the local high school football team, where he serves as both scoreboard operator and President of the booster club. He also enjoys traveling domestically and internationally with his family.
